Founding Pilot

See the work before you hire.

A structured, compensated work-sample process for one real role—built around the work that role actually requires.

DayOne helps evaluate up to six shortlisted candidates through a short job-relevant mission, transparent rubric, organized evidence, human quality review, and a clear finalist report.

What the founding pilot includes

One role. One real mission. Clearer hiring evidence.

DayOne is designed for roles where judgment shows up in the work: prioritization, communication, planning, problem-solving, and the other practical demands of the job.

01

Mission design

We turn the real requirements of one role into a short, compensated mission that is practical, job-relevant, and respectful of candidates’ time.

02

Transparent rubric approval

You review and approve the evaluation rubric before candidates begin. It stays limited to the job-relevant evidence you need to see.

03

Employer-supplied shortlist

You bring up to six shortlisted candidates. DayOne helps you evaluate the people already under consideration; it does not replace your hiring process.

04

Candidate coordination

Candidates receive a clear brief, completion expectations, submission instructions, and the promised $100 reward for completing the approved mission.

05

Rubric-bound AI evidence organization

DayOne uses AI to organize and summarize submitted work only against the employer-approved rubric. AI does not make the hiring decision or infer beyond the approved job-relevant evidence.

06

Human quality review

A human review checks that the evidence package is complete, traceable, and presented faithfully before it reaches your team.

07

Auditable comparison and finalist report

You receive a side-by-side record of mission evidence, rubric-based observations, and a concise finalist report for your internal hiring discussion.

08

Debrief

We close with a practical debrief: what the mission revealed, what to carry into interviews or references, and how to improve the next hiring cycle.

How it works

A better hiring loop in four steps.

  1. 01

    Bring the role

Share the role, job description, hiring timeline, and the evidence you need to see.

  2. 02

    Approve the mission and rubric

DayOne drafts the compensated mission and transparent evaluation rubric. You approve both before the process begins.

  3. 03

    Let candidates show the work

Your shortlisted candidates complete the same role-relevant mission. Each completing participant receives $100.

  4. 04

    Review evidence and decide

DayOne delivers organized, human-reviewed evidence and a finalist report. Your hiring team makes the final decision.

Future roadmap only

From open role to paid opportunity

Public listing — not yet a paid DayOne mission.

DayOne’s future roadmap includes an authorized job-index discovery layer that could help eligible employers turn open roles into compensated DayOne missions. It is not a current listing, marketplace, or public index.

Any future public listing would use employer submissions, licensed or opt-in partner feeds, and permitted public ATS APIs only. DayOne will not scrape LinkedIn, Indeed, or sources that prohibit reuse.
